Fitness coach discusses best supplements for women

The world of supplements can be confusing. That’s why we will discuss the top 3 best supplements for women when it comes to daily health and weight loss. You can implement these supplements immediately for a healthier you. Ready? Let’s go!

To start, our body system, when functioning at peak capacity, is like a well-oiled machine – protecting our body and helping us feel our best. However, our body does not store all nutrients and proteins. Therefore, it is crucial to optimize our daily diet to get everything the body needs, especially what it can not make; this is where supplements come in.

Best Supplements for Women

1. Omega-3s for Health

Omega-3s are a type of fatty acid. The body needs 25 fatty acids to live, all of which are made except 2: omega0-3 and omega-6. Omega-6 is commonplace in the American diet because its found in vegetable oils. However, omega-3s are typically NOT found in the American diet. It is in foods such as seafood, flax seeds/oil, and omega-3 eggs. The seafood forms are EPA and DHA – these are preformed omega-3s that the body uses them immediately. This is why omega 3 is one of the first supplements I recommend my clients take.

Benefits of omega-3s:

  • Build healthy brain cells
  • Help reduce heart disease
  • Lower risk of certain cancers
  • Elevate mood
  • Improve learning, attention, and vision

The brand I recommend and use daily is the fish oil from care/of vitamins. Get 50% off your first order with code VITAMIN50. I also take care/of’s multivitamin, magnesium, and ashwagandha.

2. Probiotics & Prebiotics

Probiotics are live microorganisms that, when administered at adequate amounts, can provide a health benefit. They must be able to survive the journey from the mouth to the colon because the colon is where most of the benefits are realized.

Probiotics can:

  • Regulate metabolism
  • Synthesize vitamins
  • Suppress inflammation
  • Neutralize pathogens
  • Improve immunity

Prebiotics are bacteria that interact with prebiotic compounds that result in strengthening the mucosal barrier lining of your intestines.

What I recommend is take a daily synbiotic, which is prebiotic and probiotic. I take Seed synbiotic daily, which is:

  • A probiotic inner capsule validated in 23+ human clinical studies
  • Prebiotic outer capsule
  • Viacap – chlorophyllin exterior that shields bacteria from light and a liquid prebiotic suspension that shields bacteria from oxygen, moisture, and heat.

Start with 1 capsule/day and work your way up to 2 capsules/day. Use code Aleah15 for 15% off your first order.

3. Protein Supplements

As adults, we need 1/2 gram of protein per pound of body weight per day. The more active you are, the more our protein needs increase. Carbs and fats are stored in the body, while proteins are not. That’s why consuming protein is essential, or the body will pull them from muscle reserves.

Benefits of Protein Supplements:

  • Reduces appetite & food cravings
  • Boosts metabolism
  • Helps maintain weight loss

Protein powder is a great, simple way to add protein to the diet, especially on the go with just a shaker bottle and water! The best tasting, all-natural brand of plant protein I use is also certified vegan, vegetarian, keto-friendly, gluten free, dairy free, and includes BCAA amino acids. This one is perfect for post workout nutrition! I also started using care/of plant protein and loving the taste of this one.

In conclusion, I hope you enjoyed reading the top 3 best supplements for women. You might also enjoy reading the blog post on 5 Easy Ways to Get More Protein in your diet or the best training shoes for women. Don’t forget to subscribe to the mailing list for my food guide.
