38 weeks pregnant and feeling very grateful we have made it this far 👶🏻 ⁣
⁣
Month 9 updates: ⁣
• Hubs has to help me get off the couch⁣
• Tying my own shoes is a huge accomplishment ⁣
• Sleep is interrupted by bathroom breaks 3+ times a night and involves a tuck and roll to get up ⁣
• Baby movements are more like rolling and pressing and less kicking. He’s running out of room!⁣
• Planning a non medicated birth & studying everything about birth I can!⁣
• When reading my birth preferences, hubs sang them out loud to the tune of we wish you a merry Christmas 🤣⁣
⁣
As crazy & tough as month 9 has been, every week he gets stronger and I trust he will come when he’s ready. Happy Sunday friends! ⁣

3 basic tips for a healthy pregnancy:⁣
⁣
• 𝗛𝘆𝗱𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲 - 10, 8 oz glasses of water. More if you are physically active! Try adding lemon or mint for flavor or drink sparkling water. Dehydration is one of the main reasons for preterm labor.⁣
⁣
• 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝘃𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗻𝘀 & 𝗶𝗿𝗼𝗻 𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗵 𝗳𝗼𝗼𝗱𝘀 - Since the body produces more blood volume, you can support the production of red blood cells by consuming spinach, chickpeas, beans, and/or red meat. This will reduce feelings of fatigue. ⁣
⁣
• 𝗠𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 - This can be as simple as a daily long walk. Keeping active during pregnancy decreases pregnancy pains and helps get baby head down. Don't forget your pelvic floor exercises!⁣

While I’ve been growing our son my husband has:⁣
• trimester 1 - got me saltines & cooked me grilled cheese when I could barely stomach anything or move from the couch⁣
• trimester 2 - didn’t complain when I wanted to test out every nursery chair in every baby store in DFW⁣
• trimester 3 - transformed into Tim Allen from home improvement installing car seats, built cribs & dressers, & all the things ⁣

• drink hot or iced tea with stevia ⁣
• eat some fruit, dark chocolate, or nut butter ⁣
• distract yourself with a walk, meditation, or phone a friend ⁣
• make sure you are getting healthy amounts of protein, carbs, and fat in your regular diet⁣

Did you know the circadian rhythm of your body controls ALL hormones? You bet. This includes the stress hormones that cause your body to hold the extra 5-10 lbs. Aim for 7+ hours a night on a regular sleep schedule. ⁣

Tips to get better sleep: Make your bedroom a zen place for sleep. Go to bed before you’re tired. Turn your phone to night shift mode and put it away before bed. Diffuse some lavender essential oil or put it on your pillow. ⁣

Nursery is coming together over here 👶🏻 Hubs has been such a trouper with weekend projects like putting together the furniture and hanging things. We loved the baby animals & each picked out one - can you guess who picked which print? Comment below ⬇️😁⁣
