Welcome! I’m sharing my quickly prepared 5 ingredient meal replacement smoothie recipe for weight loss. This is a great meal replacement for any in a rush situation. In our house, that happens pretty much daily, especially during the week! Can I get an amen?
This 5 ingredient smoothie tastes fantastic. With only 5 ingredients (plus ice), each element has a specific purpose of creating a balance of protein, carbohydrates, and fat. You can drink it in the car, at your desk, or even while walking the dog!
Now, let’s talk about the benefits of the ingredients. The fat in almond butter will slow digestion to help keep you full. The banana will fuel you. Organic spinach will add folic acid, iron, vitamin C, vitamin K, and calcium. Organic kale is a great option to switch it up, and it also provides tons of vitamins.
Furthermore, plant-based protein is excellent for building muscles and tissues. I always support PLANT based protein, because they contain no dairy, growth hormones, or antibiotics that whey proteins can have. It’s vital to make sure any supplements you use are as clean as possible, aka no added chemicals and dyes.
Place all ingredients in Vitamix or blender:
- 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
- 1 scoop Vega Sport protein
- 1/2 cup frozen organic spinach or kale
- 1/2 frozen banana
- 1 Tbsp almond butter
- 3 -5 cubes ice
Put everything in the blender and let it do its thing! TIP: Add less/more ice to get the smoothie consistency you want.
