Why Make Slow Cooker Dog Food for your Pet?
There is debate on what’s better for your dog, which I won’t dive into here because I’m no expert. My dog’s french bulldogs breeder recommended that I cook homemade dog food for Frenchies, which is why I’ve done it since she grew out of the puppy food phase. Cooking homemade dog food is easy with so many homemade dog food recipes! Do your research and make a personal decision on what’s best for you and your dog. We feed our french bulldog our dog food most of the time and supplement regular dog food when we travel or are in between cooking a new batch of food.
Making Dog Food in a Slow Cooker
I love making everything I can in a slow cooker – just a few quick chops, and the slow cooker does the rest! Your beloved pet is sure to love the extra effort. Not only does it save money over commercial dog food, but it also helps you to know what’s going into your dog’s diet. Cooking dog food with a slow cooker requires minimal effort and can be simple if you have the right ingredients.
First, choose dog-friendly proteins such as chicken or turkey. Then add carbohydrates like sweet potatoes, apples, blueberries, and vegetables. Once you combine everything in the slow cooker, all that’s left to do is tear out some tasty treats for your pup! The result? Happily fed dogs and owners delighted in the knowledge that their pup is eating nutritious homemade meals!
